Engineered for dynamic speed reduction and reliable positioning control in commercial and industrial automation.
As Vietnam's primary economic engine, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), along with the surrounding manufacturing hubs of Binh Duong and Dong Nai, is undergoing a profound shift toward smart factory automation, green electronics, and integrated logistics. Industrial parks like Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) and Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone are shifting focus from heavy manual assembly to high-precision engineering. High-performance DC Worm Gear Motors are essential to this industrial shift.
In tropical climates like Southern Vietnam, mechanical components must withstand ambient temperatures exceeding 35°C combined with relative humidity levels as high as 90%. Micro drive systems deployed in localized automated assembly lines, packaging machinery, conveyor sorting systems, and medical diagnostics require specialized housing and thermal insulation. Our customized DC worm gear motors are engineered to meet these tough requirements, providing reliable torque conversion and built-in self-locking features designed for continuous production environments.
Globally, the demand for DC worm gear motors is driven by the expansion of collaborative robotics (Cobots), smart logistics systems (such as AGVs/AMRs), and commercial automation terminals. Designers are moving away from oversized AC induction gearboxes toward highly efficient, space-saving DC permanent magnet brushed and brushless configurations. Integrating precise magnetic encoders with worm gearing allows engineering teams to achieve high reductions in a minimal footprint.
This design shift supports global sustainability mandates and the transition to decentralized automation. Precision worm drives excel in applications requiring vertical holding force without electrical brakes, making them ideal for high-vibration applications. Direct factory integration ensures HCMC industrial clients receive reliable, cost-effective gearboxes engineered for long lifespans, minimal backlash, and quiet operation.

Our micro drives support various industrial and commercial installations across key sectors in Southern Vietnam.
Vietnam's global export products (coffee, rice, fruits) require precise sorting, labeling, and heat-sealing. Our JGY-370 and 555-grade worm gearboxes provide the reliable low-speed, high-torque holding power needed for continuous operations.
In modern logistics centers in Binh Duong and Thu Duc, AGVs and sorting conveyors require high reduction ratios. Integrated magnetic encoders enable precise navigation and position feedback on the warehouse floor.
HCMC's retail sector relies on smart kiosks and vending systems. Our self-locking, compact right-angle worm motors prevent product extraction issues, ensuring reliable dispensing in vending terminals.
Worm gearboxes provide high reduction ratios in a compact space. By mounting the worm shaft on the motor rotor and pairing it with a helical worm gear, these drives offer several functional advantages:
Built-In Self-Locking Action: When the lead angle of the worm is small, the worm wheel cannot turn the worm. This locking action holds the load in place when power is removed, eliminating the need for external brakes in applications like conveyors and smart gates.
90-Degree Angular Output: Right-angle design saves space, allowing the motor assembly to fit into shallow cabinetry, machine doors, and vending compartments.
Low Backlash and High Torque: By combining high-carbon steel worms with phosphor bronze gears, our designs provide smooth torque delivery, high shock load capacity, and long service life.
To operate reliably in high-humidity regions like Southern Vietnam, our motors are built with specialized sealing techniques:

Technical information to assist engineers in selecting and integrating DC worm gear motors.
A1: Worm gearboxes deliver high reduction ratios in a compact space by transmitting power at a 90-degree angle. Their primary advantage is the self-locking function. When designed with a low lead angle, the worm wheel cannot rotate the worm shaft, holding the load in place when power is removed. They also run quietly and handle shock loads well because of sliding contact between the teeth.
A2: High humidity can cause internal condensation, resulting in corrosion, coil short-circuits, and grease breakdown. High ambient temperatures can also accelerate wear and cause oil leakage. We address these conditions by using IP-rated housings, high-temperature Class F copper windings, dual-lip oil seals, and synthetic lubricants that maintain stability across temperature changes.
A3: Yes. Many of our models (such as the JGY-370 and flat-profile series) can be equipped with magnetic or optical encoders. These provide precise feedback on speed, direction, and shaft position, which is essential for robotics, AGVs, and medical positioning equipment.
A4: Gearing components slide against each other, generating friction and heat. To minimize wear and prevent gear galling, we pair a hardened carbon steel worm with a phosphor bronze worm wheel. The bronze wheel acts as a sacrificial wear component, offering a low coefficient of friction and extending the lifetime of the gearbox.
A5: Self-locking occurs when the friction angle between the worm and worm gear is greater than the lead angle of the worm. In this state, torque cannot be transmitted backward from the output shaft. While this provides holding force for many applications, systems with safety-critical requirements should still use a mechanical or electromagnetic brake to ensure safety under high vibration or load slip conditions.
A6: We offer extensive customization, including custom output shaft profiles (D-cut, keyed, threaded, dual-shaft), custom cable lengths, specific voltage options (6V, 12V, 24V, 36V), different gear ratios to meet speed and torque targets, and specialized mounting flanges to match existing housings.
